About Kellyn

A life-long student, Kellyn has bold expectations for herself and others. She is fearless in gaining knowledge on the newest hair trends and techniques, while growing with the hair industry. As an educator, she is dedicated to empowering students with techniques that grow their confidence. Kellyn loves inspiring people and being inspired by others. Her wellness journey started heading in the right direction in 2014 when she decided that it was time to find healthier and more balanced life. This was the year she was sick of being sick; physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Kellyn’s love for nature and natural products started in hairdressing school at the Aveda Institute in Indianapolis in 2005. She had gained knowledge early in her career about self-care that was priceless to creating a healthy foundation. She was always seeking this idea of fulfillment that went beyond doing great hair. Her drive to become a better version of herself and offer a healthy salon environment came to surface when she opened Bow & Arrow™in 2014 in Boston’s North End. Kellyn and her partner opened the salon to bring something different to the beauty industry.  A place that empowers others to make mindful decisions on their beauty care routine while offering natural alternatives. They support and encourage others to find health and happiness.

“I can’t remember a day that hair wasn’t on my mind. I have loved hair and the beauty industry before I was even a professional hairdresser. This is more than just a career, this is my calling. After working for many salons that this industry glorifies unhealthy habits and practices, I was ready to make a change and open my own salon. A salon that encourages health and self-care in a non-competitive team environment. Bow & Arrow was born out of the need for change in this industry, and I couldn’t be any more proud of what it stands for!”
